Hey, figured id join this community seeing as I'm always ending up here while im researching anything and everything chicken-related.

I am fairly new to raising chickens. under a year.

I have 6 hens. 4 Sapphire Gems and 2 speckled Sussex. I am sticking to 6 no matter how hard the universe tells me I need more! lol

I got into raising birds mainly because I am a disabled Veteran and they keep me occupied, and they honestly help with mental health issues.
Plus the price of eggs was crazy and we eat so many eggs in my family of 7 lol it's a win/win for everyone

we have a 3 legged German shepherd who loves to herd them around their run sometimes too

i agree 100% about chickens ( and my ducks and my geese lol)
helping with mental and also emotional health even physical health because they reduce stress.
