Let us know how it works out with the birds in it--I'll bet they'll be as happy as can be!

Thanks folks !

Note: no nails were used in this project.
All coated screws.
Any place that would be in danger of splitting the wood (ie: 2x4 ends & all braces) were pilot drilled.

About 30 - 35lbs of coated screws.

After the pictures were taken, dog wood was planted in each end.

I have started hops that will be planted around it as well.

!!!

I want to build an aviary, but only for one or two birds. I was thinking an old fashioned gazebo-shaped thing... but this is magnificent!! Waaaay beyond my capabilities, no doubt. Will you tell us what kinds of birds you have, or where we can find it on another thread?? Please??

I want to build an aviary, but only for one or two birds.

That is all that will be in each side.

I down sized a lot. I'm down to a pair of Reeves and a Golden male. Wife has a breeding pair of Ring neck Doves, with 4 young (hatched last summer).

The building the Reeves and Golden are in now, will be completely moved. I plan on using it to raise Ringnecks in, for eating (summers only). I'll move it into the back yard. The Reeves and Golden will go into the new aviary.

The old building site will get a new (much better) building. It too will be built for two species.

When all caught up on building I'll end up with White Peafowl & Blackshoulder Peafowl (see green house frames topic) .
A pair of Satyr Tragopan will go in the "Amherst" aviary (see topic My Aviaries).
Reeves, Golden.
I may end up with another aviary for another Pheasant species in the back yard. So, the three species I'm thinking about may be Swinhoe's & .....?
Still trying to decide on the last two species. I want to get something I've never raised before (but no digging species).

Used to have Bobwhites and California Vally Quail. Got out of them.
