If you guys want to throw ideas out as to what you think the chicks could be, that'd be good too!!

12 days old: I think these may be speckled sussex.

12 days old: This one maybe a Barred rock?

This was one I thought was a RIR... now I have no idea!

Sound the alarm! We have an escapee!

The first dustbath... I went out the next day and there is dust EVERYWHERE... one the dryer, on the floor... I have no idea how they got it all over!

What could the yellow chick be? Her legs are kind of oddly colored too.... almost have a greenish tint!

They're so cute when they're sleeping!

When I take pictures, everyone wants in on the action!

She looks innocent, but she's getting ready to fly out of the box!

Our backyard. We're renting an old farm house on a 75 acre farm. There's soybean fields on three sides of us.

wish I could tell you what breeds you have there, i can tell you - that you have some very cute little ones i really love the look of the little red one, have fun with them

I'm trying not to choose favorites, but the little red ones are my favorites so far too. They seem to be more laid back than the others!

The little red one deffinately looks like a RIR. I had a couple pictures of mine from that age and they're almost identical.

i dont think thats a speckled sussex, i think those are Easter Eggers. from the comb angle, it looks to be that isnt a barred rock but a dominique. yellow ones are feathering out white, so they could be leghorns, RIWs, or cornish cross, but could also be other things too. the red ones, i dont know, but are feathering out really pretty.

I say barred!! It's comb looks like a single comb not rose... and it looks just like our barreds did at that age!

you might be right. it is kind of hard to tell if it is a rose comb at that angle. the one that is "verrrrry sleepy"? does that one have a single comb?

Your suspected RIR still looks like a RIR... she'll get her red feathers when she molts out of her baby feathers.
