Thanks for all the comments. I will try to address to questions that were asked. As far as the metal roof being hot, we have hade several days at 100+ degrees and the inside of the coop remains cooler then the outside. I think the metal actually helps reflect the heat. As far as ventilation, I have thought about that. Since the roof is corrugated it does allow for some venting. It's so new, and the chickens are still small there doesn't seem to be any bad smells in there yet (like ammonia). I may add some additional vents in the top. I am still going to add some exterior trim to the coop, I want it to look a little more like a barn, so perhaps when I do that I can add some additional venting. The litter I am using is pine shavings. Thanks again for all the comments and thoughts.
