He Hatched puffy (looks like fluid, mostly in his neck), leans to one side, the side he leans to seems to have a weak leg, his head is a bit wobbly. Perked up once given electrolytes, vitamins, and snuggles.

Hi!

Cute chick!

If there's no other eggs needing to hatch, I would put him back in the incubator turned down to 95F for another 24 hours.

He should finish absorbing whatever this is and his legs might actually heal better in there too not getting bumped around by other chicks.

I've done this any time I've had a weaker chick or even one I thought was disjointed and another day in the incubator was like a miracle.

Do the vitamins have any riboflavin listed on the label? Riboflavin or B2 can help with leg or foot issues in chicks. You can find it in human B complex and some chick vitamins. Dip it’s beak in the water and food often and let us know how it is doing. You can warm up a shot glass or small wine glass or padded cup and let the chick stand in it to strengthen it’s legs. It could be placed in the incubator I suppose.

I had put one in a round toothpick container many folks might have, back in the incubator. It slept an entire 8 hours straight, but I left it in there for a few more hours. It's leg/hip issue was gone.

I think sometimes these chicks hatch just a little bit too fast.

Now if I could find those toothpicks again lol.

There were several others behaving the same way. I out them together in the incubator and they all died. There is another one now. What could it be.

Sorry for your loss. Did you lose the little one in post 1? The health of the parent stock and incubation problems can affect a hatch causing problems.

Yes. He deflated and I was hopeful. But they all are getting the same

we kept feeding them a mash with vitamins and poly vis sol.

I looked at its navel and it's huge and purple. I looked at the dead ones and they have the same thing. Mushy chick disease?
