That's GREAT, as it'll help him have a routine.
Humans without light perception often have messed-up circadian rhythms and are awake at funny times, etc. If he is a roo, you really want him to know when it's night time!
It might also be worth experimenting later on with a small very bright light near his food/water. Something LED based in a shady area would be cheap and easy, but very high contrast. It would be good to help him locate things for if he gets disorientated. I think if he can see light contrast, he should be able to learn something like that quite quickly!
Well! I just found this thread, and it sure made me smile to see your chick doing so well. I had an eyeless chick hatch two years ago, and struggled with her for days until we finally hit on a way to get her to eat. She has done great and currently lives in her own little apartment in the chicken coop where she can easily find her food and water and the others can't bully her; I bring her in at night. Her name is Sonar and she's half Silky, half d'Uccle and all determination: she never gave up. Congratulations to you for getting your little one past that first gigantic hurdle, and I hope you enjoy him or her as much as we have ours!
