I have a hen that hatched five (/7) of her own eggs. There was a crack in the nest that allowed the chicks to fall through that I didn't know about and assumed that the other chickens got to them and ate them.
Fortunately I found them in time and after a couple of days without water four of them seem to b e perfectly fine, the last however doesn't seem to want to eat or drink. I've been dropping sugar waterand ground up food down its throat, but it does not seem to want to eat at all. The other babies are running around a pen with their mother, but this chick just stands there and peeps loudly all day and won't peck at anything. The hen pecks at it occasionally, but it will just run away.
It seems fairly strong, ut don't know what to do. Any ideas?
