Newly hatched chicks all dying!

Aw cheers eggsighted! I really hope I got the ticks off on time,trying to see if there is some way I can get more protein in them,wobbles is barely taking water,just one or two when I manage to get them in!
Boiled, smashed egg is good. It has lots of micro nutrients.

Since you have a fair # of chooks, you could consider fermenting your feed. It increases nutrient availability and hence absorption therefor reducing consumption and saving $ while increasing the health of the birds. Here is a link with some info. So it increase the protein by 0.12. Example 20% times 0.12 = 22.4% protein. It also increases B vitamins.

If you happen to have baby vitamins with NO iron, you could supplement the chick. Poly vi sol is what one is called. The B's are important. That's what I do when there is the wobbles. Though my store didn't carry that brand & I just bought bird vitamins to use. I drip strait on the beak, always instant perk up and no fear of overdosing as extra vitamins will expel in the waste.

One more thing, I realized your heading was asking for expert advice, and I am far from that. The first year I raised chickens, I was scared to pick them up! This is year 4 and I have so much to learn. There are lot's of things I have never had to deal with yet. So just remember that although my intentions are good, you have to make the decision about what is right for you!

@kalaharichook I would also add that not all vets are created equal either. Remember somebody HAD to graduate at the bottom of the class!

And others just aren't well versed in avian stuff.

Hi everyone,I really appreciate all the support you have given me,it's been a tiring few days putting everything into trying to save the chicks. I don't know how,given how unstable he is,but wobbles has survived yet another night! I made sure he was propped up in a nest I made from thermal leggings,so he couldn't fall over,checked him again at 2am and again here he is...and getting his voice back too!

You are doing well coming up with little aids to encourage Wobbles to thrive!

Since I have done the same thing before, I know how exhausting it can be. Both physically and emotionally.

Regardless of the eventual outcome (hopefully good) I know you have done everything in your power. Hang in there yourself.

@kalaharichook
 How did you all pull through? :frow

Hey! Unfortunately,wobbles didn't make it he held on like that near three days but clearly there was something very wrong with him,his legs stopped functioning and he never recovered.
The last chick is doing very well indeed!He is now 9days old,and although Stoll small has a loud voice on him and is active and alert!
I heard from a friends mum,that sometimes if the mother hen doesn't turn her eggs properly,it can cause issues once the chicks hatched. So maybe it had something to do with that? Anyway,still checking up on the wee guy through the night but he is happy sleeping on his towel nest on his warm water bottle!

I hope I wasn't rude. I know how sad it is. If cold outside is it possible to bring inside? Only bc moms not keeping them warm and they need warmth until they get feathers. Just a thought.
