Don't know if this is the right location for this thread but there was a nice front page news article (with backyard chicken photos) this past Friday in the San Antonio paper about the rise in local urban agriculture with some great focus on backyard chickens. I guess chickens are more photogenic than tomatoes and zucchini. Stupid headline though - I'm a Texan through and through and I don't know what the heck a Texas Turnip is and why it's a particularly good euphemism for explosive growth.
I was quick to use the article as more ammunition against my husband's chicken reluctance. (Besides, I went out today and found a great Craigslist deal on a wooden screen door for the coop. What can he say when I have all the materials bought and ready to build!)
