Yeah Robin's Brood we already have tree limbs down! I am so hoping this is as bad as it gets!!! Our gas tank got knocked over and broken 2 days ago, and we have a goat due any day to kid!!! Ran out of goat feed today too. We still have a little hay, but not enough for any length of time....so I'm FREAKING OUT RIGHT NOW!
I think maybe the worst that's gonna happen tonight is I'm gonna have to smack DH. he keeps looking over my shoulder at the online radar sayin "the power is gonna go out here in a little while."
Coming down hard in Apex also. I guess I will be getting up during the night keeping it off of the dog kennel run. I'm not worried about the new hoop house though. Can't wait to see the look on the chook's faces in the morning. They have never seen snow.
Robin's Brood, I agree about the constant news coverage. You would think that snow in N.C. was a matter of national security.

Don't you know Greg Fishel is a happy, happy man right now!
When we got that decent snow last winter my chickens were scared to come out of the coop. My roo came running out and almost slid to a stop, did an about face and high tailed it back into the coop, as he was sounding the "danger" alarm.
Of the 14 chickens I have now, only 4 have experienced snow before. Tomorrow will be interesting, chicken wise, for sure!
Having been born and raised in Fayetteville, NC, I remember how the news channels would really run it in the ground whenever there was even a snow flurry! Everything shut down if there was an inch of snow on the ground. Now I live in WV and they SAY we are supposed to get 9-15 inches here. However, they also said it would start late this afternoon and evening. It is now 9:34 and no snow...not even a flurry...nothing. I am SO NOT complaining!!! We have had enough snow this year.
I hope all y'all stay warm and off the roads...The snow, like a full moon, seems to bring out the crazies..
