It's falling even harder now!

The beautiful, fluffy snow that was coming down when I went to bed has turned to yucky, nasty sleet and freezing rain.

So how did everyone make it thru the night? Robin'sBrood nice pics. love to watch it snow, thanks for posting them.

We still have power. The snow changed over to sleet/freezing rain sometime during the night. I heard it when I got up to go to the bathroom but I don't know what time it was. I'm so disappointed in this... the kids can't have fun with this mess pouring out of the sky. It isn't going to be nearly the "snow event" that was predicted. The Meteorologists are practically hanging their heads in shame.

I want to

my DH for going in to work this morning.

Last night, around 11:00, when it was snowing very hard

This morning, with the chicken run in background (notice the deck railing... the sleet packed the snow down to nothing.)

We had a small tornado a couple of nights ago. It didn't do too much damage except to a barn down the road...completely destroyed it. Next door the tornado pulled up about ten two-inch trees, and on our property it knocked over one huge fence post. No one was hurt, thank God. No one even knew it happened until next morning...no noise...and we continued to sleep. Naturally, we live in Texas.

We only got a couple inches of snow, and then the sleet started. We just moved into our new house at Thanksgiving. The surprise I got when the sleet began was the snow sliding off the metal roof. It sounded like thunder every time a new clump hit the ground. This morning everything is covered in a layer of ice and it's still precipitating, sort of a fine mist of rain/sleet, or "wintry mix" as the foreguessers called it. So far no power loss, knock on wood.

We got some snow today, we are up to 8 inches, the snow is so pretty, it's peaceful and quiet I just love it. Took a drive into Frederick to pick up parts for my truck round trip takes me about an hour I left at 11 got back home 2:30 ???? Just gotta love the snow covered roads.
