Val, I understand---i remember the days of dial-up!! Wasn't that long ago for us---we had dial-up for many more years than we've had DSL.
I had no coop at all, so i built from the ground up. We did have a rusty old beat up metal tool shed that hubby used for tools and equipment. It was in such bad shape, leaked like crazy and one wall was badly stove-in from ice that fell off our house. So i also built a brand new wooden 8x10 tool shed this summer, and tore down the old metal shed. The tool shed was the easier of the two to build---no windows. LOL I made the shed door from v-groove lumber, which was something new to me. Came out ok, especially for a first try!
That's cool about the window you put in backwards---what a great idea! In my coop, I just used old mobile home windows that i had stored in the crawl-space under our trailer. We are conscious of what people can see as they drive by. Usually people compliment us for making our place nice. But there are a few pills who try to find stuff to complain about. When we moved here 6 yrs ago, we got all our proper permits and met all requirements, etc, and then certain people tried to bring legal action against us to get us thrown off our property! In the end, we won, and we stayed here. The next year we started building an addition---and certain people tried to get us in trouble with the town. Once again, we were doing everthing by the book, and they could not fault us for anything. I am a member of the town Zoning Board---have been for 2 years now. But i still work hard to keep our place looking nice.

i have another old step ladder that is falling apart---i considered making it into a perch, but one step fell off completely, and another broke halfway off. I think hubby might just burn what's left in the wood furnace---LOL!
I made my roost from a long 2x3 board (cut in 4 ft lengths) that i had left from when we built our addition on our house. i used up whatever scrap lumber i could in the coop project---nest boxes, roost, the steps up to the door, even the doors themselves are leftover pieces of plywood. I should post some interior pics too.
The roost:
It is hinged so it can be propped up, then the wire contraction over the dropping pit can be propped open too for cleaning out underneath:
The nest boxes ( i made one on the floor too for the silkies):
View looking through the people door (the whitish chicken is an EE). The nest boxes are on the right, and the roost is on the left. There are two hanging feeders, and one hanging waterer. I have another hanging waterer outside under the roof overhang. The metal can holds a bag or two of feed. I also made a cute little storage cupboard in the corner to keep supplies like bags of oyster-shell grit, spare fly-papers, etc:
