(1) We are not new to chickens as this is our 3 flock in 10 years 
I also grew up with a dozen chickens in our flocks all throughout my childhood. Our first flocks as a family was 7 girls in 2013 in New Zealand.
(2) We have fifteen1-3 year hens, one 2 year old rooster, eight 1 month chicks, one 1 month rooster, and are currently on day 13 of incubating 8 of our own eggs in my homemade incubator.
(3) We have Rhode Island Reds, Americaunas, Australorps, Dominiques, Plymouth Rocks, and some others I’m not sure of.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Our favorite aspect of raising chickens is the health and happy benefits for our whole family. From being outside, building coops, collecting eggs early, gathering poop for fertilizer, to sitting in the grass daily just to watch them graze and be cute, our family is happier and closer because of them.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Our family loves being at church, soul winning, gardening, homeschooling, baking, and learning all about natural and herbal remedies for living healthy, wholesome, happy, and helpful lives.
(6) We are a family of 5 so far. We have 3 boys ages 5, 2, and 4 months and would be blessed to have all the children God will allow us to have
We have 1 18 year old tortoise and a 17 year old cat named “Boo”.
I am a stay at home wife and mom who works hard in our home to give my children the best childhood they can possible have with their hearts and minds focused on Jesus and others.
My husband works in construction as a sub contractor and can build and fix just about everything a home and farm could need. I married the right man! He’s healthy and amazing and handsome!!
7) I found BYC a long while ago when we first started having our own chickens in 2013. I finally joined the group because I find that so much of my time has been learning and researching and trying to become a chicken expert so I can teach my children and have a happy flock. This is just the best possible community to get and give information as well as silly and uplifting reads.
