It's easy and it heal real quick ..even I remove his comb in 34C still bleeding stop pretty good with Ice compress

This is great info. I’m so afraid to do it, you know that! I’m worried too much about the bleeding part. I’ll ask around tomorrow, if I didn’t find someone maybe it’s time to buy a sharp scissor
Kurikurik should also have the procedure. I hope everything will go well

Ohhh you are from beak squad from Instagram oh I told u many times but hopefully u Understand that comb cause problems which is fatal I can understand your fear Totally it's scary and very dangerous

Yes I use nothing except a towel dipped in a bucket of ice water and press on bleeding it works wonder and then apply Flour + Corn Starch mix on the wound leave it open it will heal

It will bleed a lil after u Remove like when he eat and go down
We give only chilled water for drink
And let him sit in Air Condition for temperature control he will feel a bit hot for. While but once u settled him in a cold environment all good give boiled egg & Poultry vitamins daily post Surgery

Don't worry it sounds horrible but it's the process of 10 min only if done right and steady hand
I marked on the area we need to cut also hold him tight he will scream shout and he will flap his legs but don't leave him
Proceed the Cut from back to front very fast in a single stroke it will bleed alot to be honest
But bleeding will stop as quick u apply ice
My home lobby was looking like horrible when we dub but as far as it's the sake of saving a life all worth it

Update: I dubbed Shaggy’s comb! I removed about 60% of it. OMG! I can’t believe I did that! My heart was crying as I do it. It bled for a while but I guess it already stopped (hopefully). The ice and flour and corn starch really worked. I’m currently observing him. Thank you for the very useful information @Saaniya

He’s asleep right now.He flew and the wound bleed again around an hour ago. I made it stop right away. I feel so stressed. How long will it take until it’s safe?

So glad to see this , seems like you cut the hanging portion only from the sideways it's good you remove the weight .

Yes , it will bleed just for sometime according to temperature
If hot above 29C there's chances of minor bleeding as comb is the Thermoregulation of their body and they want to maintain their temperature
so you have to keep applying flour and cover it & let him sit in cool temperature I use to turn on our Evaporative Cooler For him after post dub Air Condition Also do the same

Tootoo bleed next 1-2 days when ever he eat or peck in bowls so I keep applying flour

His diet for 3 weeks is Hard Boiled Eggs , protine
heal comb quick if you have any vitamins you can give them too .

Now this comb will never grow back from the portion u cut

°Do not wash or rinse till 2-3 week you can clean him leaving the area of comb
After 3 weeks mild cleanse with Betadine water and apply mild Veseline or coconut oil
