I would install the nipple drinker and allow them to play with it for a few days while the old water system was in place.
Remove the old watering device from their presence for an increasing amount of time each day for a week to ten days finally removing it altogether.
Expect at least a slight reduction in egg production or growth for a few days.
They will always prefer drinking out of a pool of water over a nipple. But once acclimated to nipples they will do just fine.
If you are worried about hurting their feelings, causing them to hate you, or becoming unpleasant because you are not catering to them don't even try. Raise kittys.
