Nipple waterer

Hi all! I have two week old chicks and I just installed a nipple waterer today. They seem to be super into it and pecking at the metal part, but when they do, no water comes out. I thought I installed this correctly. Are they not old enough to be able to peck strong enough? Any ideas why it won’t work?

If you are using a closed container, did you remember to make a little hole near the top to prevent a vacuum from forming?

Depends on the style of nipple. I'd also avoid any thin walled containers, they could be more prone to leak as there's not enough material to get a good snug seal around the nipple housing.
