After 38 days (counting from consistent sitting of my hen), and no babies. I think the eggs are dead. My questions/comments:
1. Will the hen eventually leave the nest/eggs?
2. Is it harmful to her to let her stay there?
3. I tried to candle and Thought some were viable a few weeks ago,
4. She started to consistently sit on June 8th (started collecting the nest with eggs May 29)
5. The drake was Highly active with the hen, could he be infertile?
6. Both the hen and drake are 1 year old - too young for fertile eggs?

Thank you for any response you may have

ps. 95% Muscovy eggs, 5% Pekin/Muscovy cross egg. Drake is Muscovy

1 thru 6 are all possibilities. So they are 3 days overdue.
I don't know waterfowl as well as I know galliformes but in general she may or may not give up. It can be harmful to let them stay broody. It is always possible a male has a fertility issue. I don't think that is too young. Have you opened eggs to see if they were fertile?
Do you have an incubator?

I plan to take out an egg tomorrow and toss it. Will see if it explodes!!! If yes, I will toss all. I do not want the hen to be harmed by nutrition or lack of movement.

not familiar with the float test. I had one of the eggs in a home-ade incubator and with no activity I tossed it. HELLO Egg EXPLOSION!!!!!! Certainly not fertile, yolk splat. The eggs look dark like feathers are there, but when I tossed the one in the incubator (which looks like most of them).....see above ....egg 💦

It is done (EXTREMELY GROSS and SMELLY!!!). No babies this year. Maybe next year. Now back to enjoying fresh eggs when they start laying again.
