No brooder bedding?

I think that is def worth a try. How old are the babies? It maybe you will just have to wait a while to till they are older but try what your talking about.

OK, I'll give that a go. The youngsters are about 1 month old. I still have two in the house, they are about a week behind. I'm about to integrate those two with the others youngsters outside soon. I don't suspect it will be as much of a problem, especially since the youngsters are about to get the lion share of the coop/run for a week, whilst the mommas are penned in a smaller pen.

Well I divided it up and put all the youngsters together. So far so good. The youngsters haven’t picked on the two younger ones. They all seem to be so fixated on the mommas. So far it’s been 45 minutes and no sign of picking.

It might be hard to see the fence in the coop that keeps the youngsters separated from the mommas, but it’s a diagonal division that allows the youngsters into the run and the coop. The mommas stay in the coop. I’m standing in the run in these pics.

So far the little ones are doing great. The mommas in their pen seem to be ok except this morning there were a whole lot of feathers. Is this normal shedding or is this stress, or are they attacking each other? It just seems like a lot.
