No Brooders, No Problem

This is so awesome & too funny! I was just wondering the other day if I could incubate an egg with my boobs  ! Now I know it's possible! One of our hens went broody last week but she's only sitting on brown eggs not any of our easter egger eggs...sooo if this works I'm gonna give it a shot & get an EE egg a-bating! Can't wait to see how it goes & I wish you the best of luck :)

Questions though, are you turning the egg, are you being careful not to move too fast/sudden/jolting etc & is the egg in your cleavage or? Thanks!

I've been reading this while thread and the only thing I was wondering is where they are located, how she showers and do you change your bra Haha.

I hatch eggs all of the time, have eggs hatching right now actually but I've always used incubators or a broody hen that once when Lucy decided to be broody. Maybe you can figure out what temp and humidity level your chest is keeping them at. Some thermometers have probes so you can figure it out and see if your chest offers an acceptable temp./humidity range for hatching. The humidity is going to need to be up when it's about time to hatch but I have no idea what a human body would offer as far as that goes. Chicken butts do it just fine.

I can't imagine at this point giving buttcheek back her eggs because the odds of her being able to hatch the one she's sitting on are extremely high in comparison to our boob hatchery.

I couldn't justify losing her egg for my need at this point. I may toward the end get an incubator for when they go into lockdown, that's pending viability.

and change into all clean clothes, even the cotton wrap which is around each egg is changed daily. About an hour or two sometimes four we pass the eggs again depending on what we need to do. Some of the hesitation to pass the eggs back are due to internal body temperature after showering.

When the eggs are in my bra because of the type I wear I have to have them positioned under my breast. this also is a warmer more secure area for the eggs. If they were in my cleavage not only would I look like I had a couple small growths but they would fall out and be a whole heck of a lot of mess.

My niece on the other hand can position the eggs differently because she uses full coverage so they're more on the inner side..

Both ways work, just depends on size and type of bra you wear.

as far as moving goes you definitely are more aware when you bend down and are careful not to shake them up. For us because there's two people when one of us needs to do vigorous work the other will hold the eggs and do the easier task. The eggs are turned on an as needed basis.... even in the car, even in the store

What if they start to hatch say, at the grocery store, or work, ? The look on your face might be priceless.
That's a really good question, one I have ran through my head a hundred times. Then I start to think about something else...lol

Actually while I was out yesterday I had a random thought (which seems to happen frequently) what would happen if I got into an accident and the emts found eggs in my bra... how would I explain that? Which then made me wonder why the emts would be in my bra....

Then as usual I started thinking about something else....LOL

I can always say my implants are leaking I gotta go or ive spontaneously started leaking because these lines are too long. Either way you look at it the outcome is quite disturbing.

Haha I love it! That's great! I've told some of my girlfriends about th is little experiment and they think it's great fun!

Creative way to hatch chickies :D

Recently I found myself following a thread where a woman was incubating in her bra, and I must admit I was a little intrigued.
Everyday afterward when I went to grab my little silkie, Buckbeak’s egg, the temptation was ever-present. After deliberating with my niece, aka my co-surrogate, on several different occasions, we finally made the fateful decision.
On Monday, January 20th we began incubating Buckbeak’ egg, which we will refer to as Egg A. Wrapped in a cotton swaddle, Egg A sat-cuddled in my bra, soon to be joined by neighboring egg, Egg B…. and no, I don’t intending on dropping ten or twenty more in there, lol.
Today is day five and after candling this evening the twins appear to be developing nicely.
Here are some pictures from the candlings.
Egg A Day 3

Some vein development was visible, you can sort of see it in the top left area

This is the same Egg A on Day 5

The chick is developing on time despite slightly lower temperatures.
A cute little alien baby! lol

this is an AWESOME experiment! If this hatch is successful i might just strap a bra on to try this myself...(I wonder what everyone would think of me if they find out

I would want to try if I thought I had a snowflakes chance in .... of succeeding but with a (almost) 4 year old daughter and two large dogs, one if which if very hyper the egg WOULD break. This could be an interesting twist on that old school "don't break this "baby" egg thing. lol.
