My silkie laid almost 20 eggs about 2 weeks and she hasn't gone broody. She is carrying on like normal and is her healthy happy self. Previously after she laid her eggs she would go broody. Is it normal?

I always take the eggs away as they're not fertile. Are you taking the eggs or allowing her to build a clutch ?
Lol. They can be so funny sometimes. Maybe she will go broody for the next round, as I have a rooster now and getting along well. Think she will be great mom. She's doing what all hens do; if you want a broody right then, no; and if you don't want a broody, everyone sits there looking at you.
Leaving a few marked eggs in a nest might help, and that's about the only thing that sometimes encourages that hormone shift.
