Agreed! Man, if I had known we would be lacking in name tags I would have picked some up in Wal Mart when we stopped. Looking forward to seeing the pictures!

Thanks Again to Kelsey and Bill and Family for hosting!!

We had a great time. Couldn't have picked a better local on a such a nice day to be outside! Very nice to have met all of you, name tags for sure next time!

I'm in Fremont and may be able to assist in an East Bay get-together. Maybe I'll actually get some chickens at that one

It was great meeting everyone! Thanks so much to Kelsey and Bill for hosting! (and thanks to Bill's parents for being so gracious in the use of their ranch!) It was a gorgeous location, and the weather was perfect. I will post pics as soon as I sort them out a bit.

Yes, we needed nametags. We spent an awful lot of time ogling the birds and very little time making a guest list. I can remember faces and screen names, but a few "real" names have slipped through my brain cobwebs. I must confess, it felt like Chickens Anonymous when we went around the veranda for introductions. ("Hello my name is *fill in the blank* and I have too many chickens...and here next to me is my enabler." (I think we all had one of those.)

The food was fabulous! Sunny and Steve manned the BBQ, and boy was it delish!

There were too many desserts to even have a little of each. Thanks, Kim (wolftracks)!

For some of us, the chickenstock continued at the campground, and we just got home today. SunnyDawn, her DH (Steve) my DSO (whattheflock/Tim), and his DS camped at the state park, less than 2 miles from Narly Dude Ranch (Cole Creek Center). Sunny is just as fun in person as she is online! It's so much fun meeting BYCers, and even more fun when you get to spend enough time to sit around the campfire with them. I highly recommend it! The chickens were great campers, too! Steve was a great chicken ambassador, and invited kids and parents from neighboring campsites to come see the chicks. Hugs all around once the tents were packed up and check out time was approaching. Sunny and her DH, Steve, are still enroute to Reno. Sunny, my friend, it was a blast! I think you are my long-lost twin!

I sold my little Black Ameraucana roo (

) but there was no helping it. I can't have roosters where I live.

However, I did buy another of Sunny's pullets, and she and her two traveling companions are now resting in the chicken tractor.

Sorry to everyone who couldn't make it. We missed you!

AmCanyonStables, It is highly possible I still have another Ameraucana roo. If it turns out to be the case, he's yours. The one I sold was not to APA standards (no muff/beard), so I didn't think you'd want him. He went home with the Chicken Queen to be a part of a colored egg project.

I think it would be great to have both a Northern CA chickenstock and a Bay Area/ Central CA chickenstock each year. But, we definitely need peeps to jump in and help with the planning. It was a real advantage to have the chicken swapping, so at least one of the annual events should have that as a priority.

Now, I'd better get on those pics!

Whew, that was a LOOOOONNNNGGGG Drive home.

I had a blast, thank you all for planning and coming out, not to mention the help setting up and cleaning up, you all are awesome! I had such a blast meeting everybody. Came home with 4 less chicks and 7 less quail, but had 2 cochin chicks in the bator when I walked in the door. Oh also came home with 12+ Faverolle hatching eggs

Now I just gotta get my coop up this week so my babies who are getting big can go out.

Now the bad news. I forgot my camera at the ranch, and won't be able to pick it up for a week or two, so you all will have to wait for my pics.

Whew, just got home a few hours ago. We had a hard time saying goodbye to Orp, Whattheflock and his DS. You guys are so much fun!!! You just need to work on that problem you have with being so shy.

I can't believe how comfortable I felt with all of you! I mean it's not like we all have anything in common.

The weather was perfect, the food was awesome, the location, the great company... just a perfect event! I'm mad at DH though, he was supposed to grab some of Wolftracks pineapple upside down cake to take home and he forgot!

That cake was scrumptious!

The Monkey bread was super decadent too! Kelsey and Bill, you guys and Orp did such a great job putting this together! And all the way from Susanville too! You two Rock! You were right, the Ranch is Beautiful!!! Gorgeous property your folks have there! It was so great to see all of your family there as well!

We didn't get to meet everyone but we enjoyed manning the BBQ!

I will try much harder next time to get around to meeting everyone, I promise. All the folks we did get to meet (and that was alot!) were so friendly and easy to talk to. I think we should do this once a month for all 3 months, every year, during summer. Johnrillamas has already offered to set up the next one (see how I changed "assist" to "set up"). He and his wife were so sweet and what a precious little girl you two have!. Get that coop done John, We'll try to save you a couple of ameraucana girls for the next swap (your daughter will love the blue eggs).

turtlepb88 I am so sorry I didn't get your question answered before I left. Kelseygirl was right I had already left and I don't own a laptop so I was oblivious! Nobody ever has to feel like they are "intruding" during one of our campouts. We always enjoy a big crowd! There were a couple of available campsites close to us and we really had a great time. You've got to join us next time! Not to embarrass you Steph but I enjoyed our campout so much! You are a blast to talk to! You sure we aren't long lost sisters?

Darling Hubby (Steve) was so cute. When I first told him we were going to a BYC "Chicken Stock" he sighed and said "Okay..." (you all know the tone of voice). 2 days later he's still trying to understand, and asks "Why are we doing this?" Half way through the event he says "I'm sure glad we decided to do this! These folks are great!!!" Now he want's to know when the next one is!
hugs.gif

Thank you to all of you for making this such a fantastic trip! Hubby's right, you folks are great!!!

So...? When's the next one?
