NO COLORED EGGS FOR EMMA!!!!!

That blue EE at the end was my last hope at getting colored eggs...... well.... today she laid her first..... and I am sad to say it was just another shade of brown. In total I have bought 4 Ameraucanas and 8 Easter Eggers...... All four Ameraucanas were boys.... two of the EEs died..... two were roosters....... two ended up just being mutts..... and the final two laid brown eggs....... That's 12 chances at just ONE colored egg, and all failed. Who knew it would be so hard. Maybe I'll have better luck next year.

Are you able to order directly from a hatchery?
I'm pretty sure that ordering pullets from a hatchery would give better results than that!

Wow...good luck in the spring. I have just two EEs and both are laying blue/green! I got them from cackle hatchery so maybe better luck there?

Yeah, I plan to try the hatchery route in the spring.

I suggest you try them. Jellybean (left) Lays blue eggs, and although Opal (right) hasn’t started to lay, I had a dream I found a hot-pink the nest box so we’ll see
