No egg for a week -- is this normal?

I have one four-year-old Rhode Island Red, the remaining hen from my original flock that I raised from chicks. Last October we added four new hens who are about 9 months old and who are laying well. Everyone is friendly. My RIR has always been a very reliable layer but she has not laid an egg in a week. She is still her usual bossy self, acting and eating normally, and when I examine her, I can't see or feel anything wrong. She is not moulting (that typically happens in the fall). Is this within the normal behavior of an older hen? We live in Central Virginia where the weather has been warm now for about a month (40-50 in the morning, 60-70 during the day). Thanks for any advice.
