Today I had an egg without a shell. I know this happens when the hen doesn't have enough calcium. I've added more oyster shells in the coop to rectify the issue and provided some plain yoghurt.
My concern is that one hen was milfky lethargic. Not eating her favourite food (corn) and not too interested in the oyster shells and not too interested in water.
I separated her from my small flock and set her up some nice digs in my kitchen where I could monitor her progress. She was only interested in my cats wet food so I let her have a bit. Then she had enough energy to drink some water. Late in the afternoon she walked out of my kitchen to try to get back to the flock and seems better since but not quite gersehe. Not as upbeat as usual. Not trying to eat all the good stuff around.
Anyone have any advice. There is no vet my small town that deals with birds.
Any advice would be helpful. She wanted to cuddle my dog when she was under the weather so please pay no mind to his cute mug in the photo.
