No eggs - we are about to give up

How old is "a good laying age"?
Do you have any egg eaters like snakes getting in? How predator proof is the coop and run?
Have you checked VERY carefully to see that they aren't laying somewhere in a hidden spot? They're sneaky that way...you have to look up high as well as down.

all of this, and golf balls and light... but also, make a mash where you soak some corn and a bit of cayenne pepper overnight and feed - (again be sure they really are the right age) be careful... you'll have more eggs than you know what to do with - I thought this might be a bit of a cool old rural myth - but hoh mama!!!

We got two brown eggs and 1 green for the past two days...........out of 2 slw's and 5 ee's (plus 4 older hens that for various reasons are not laying) We got the babies in March...............

I have you all beat!! I have 24 pullets, 22wks to 36wks old, all laying age and some days I get 2, but most days a big fat ZERO!! I give them all sorts of stuff to entice them to lay and nothing is working. I have 15 more 12 wk olds that I'm sure won't lay anything either!! Whose big idea was it anyway to get these things??

My BR and bantam EE were laying but quit entirely about a month ago. A friend and I each purchased a SS from the same breeder (same age) and hers is laying - mine has not laid the first egg. All my girls are under a yr of age and in prime condition.
I'm trying the cayenne pepper!!

I can beat that. I have almost 60 hens, all well over a year old, and have only gotten a dozen eggs in the past month. I will be processing some CX's in a few weeks, and I am considering taking out half of them. With feed prices rising so quickly, we can't afford to feed them and buy eggs. I know some of them are molting, but that can't be the case for all of them. I may try the pepper thing to see if that works. I keep moving the grill closer to the coop, but they don't seem to be getting the message!

If "good laying age" means they are pullets who have reached laying age, then it is very possible that the winter is throwing off your schedule. Sometimes pullets who mature in the fall, don't lay until spring.
