We got our chickens on May 26 2017. They were pretty small although Im not sure how old they are exactly when you get them from the farm store. I am concerned they aren't laying eggs yet. The farm store told me they would probably start laying in October or November now here we are at the beginning of February with no eggs from all 3. I haven't ever had chickens before so I am wondering what other peoples experiences are. I have done the oyster shell and layer feed mixed in with the scatter feed. Is there anything else I can d? Is it normal for them to still not be laying eggs?

Perfectly normal that if they didn't reach egg laying age before Winter temperatures set in, that their bodies won't kick start the laying thing until Spring xx

I'm very concerned that you are feeding oyster shell and layer feed to non-layers. That amount of excess calcium is a recipe for gout and other potential problems.

Those are good egg-laying breeds. As for non-laying, many breeds stop laying in the winter when there is less daylight. I'd wait until early spring before giving up on them.

oh really I am glad to know this everything I read online suggested that they needed those things to lay eggs and that maybe the lack of calcium was the problem I definitely dont want to feed them the wrong thing.
