No eggs yet Advise please

A lack of calcium is sometimes the issue if a layer has stopped laying but not in one that hasn't started yet. A good grower pellet should be fine, until you see your first eggs, then a layer pellet xx

Thank you I will Change that out right away we love our chickens I dont want to do anything that could be harmful to them

They get a lot of light and we let them out to roam whenever I am home so they are out in the light a lot. It gets light about 7am here and dark about 6:30 right now
Well that's a lot more than we get! We have to use artificial lighting. I'm truly stumped.

Also, don’t feed them too much scratch. It should only make up 10% of their diet.
When they do start laying, give them the oyster shell separately free choice. If they need more calcium they will eat some.
And give them grit in a separate container as well. It helps them grind their food since they don’t have teeth.
You don’t have to wait til they start laying to give them grit.

You SHOULD NOT wait til they start laying to give them grit. If they are eating anything other than pellets, such as greens, scratch etc, then they need grit as it acts in their crop, to grind food, as they don't have teeth to do the job with xx

Yup, they are way, way overdue.

Any chance, you bought straight run chicks? Meaning they were unsexed...and you may have unknowingly bought, all roosters. This happens all the time.

They are about 10 months now, and pullets usually lay their first egg around 18 weeks (4.5 months) or a little later, depending on the breed. My Buff Orpington's for example laid their first egg at about 6 months old, but my New Hampshires laid at about 5 months old, so it varies.

But if they are roosters they should have started to crow by now. Cockerels too, have an average time that they crow, again depending on breed. They usually crow around 4-5 months of age, but I have had some start at 2 months old.

These are my thoughts, I hope they were helpful. :jumpy
