My chickens have been laying eggs every day and every day there's one more egg but today I had no eggs? Could it have something to do with the heat

It's been 3 days with no eggs for me. Very new layer.... is that normal? I'm wondering if my boxes are to their liking. They're old wooden fruit boxes. I thinking about getting covered cat litter boxes to give more privacy. Found one in the box today and thought she was laying so I left and returned later to an egg less box.

Some hens will only lay once or twice a week for they first few months.

Question. How come all my hens lay in the are box. And they don't sit on the eggs they lay and leave

Not sure what you are trying to ask here.

Do you want to know why they all use the same box? It's very common for a flock to choose one nest box as the favorite. They will even wait in line for their turn to lay.

Do you want to know why they don't sit and try to hatch their eggs? That's called going broody. It's triggered by hormones. Most hatchery sourced breeds have had broodiness bred out.

New layers are very unpredictable in how they lay. They can lay a lot, then stop. Molting could be the cause; even a slight molt can stop laying. Check to see if there's any loss of feathers. Also check for parasites, just in case.

Search the coop for any hidden nests as well. Chickens are very clever in where they can put their eggs.

Yes, it is very normal for multiple hens to use the same nest box. Them not sitting on the eggs is common too, especially if you don't have a rooster. They sit on the eggs to try and hatch them, but without a roo the eggs will not develop.
