Hi..I have 2 sexlink hens that haven't laid any eggs now for 3 days. They are acting normal...eating fine...just not laying their normal egg a day. It is very hot in Washington right now...could that be it? I don't notice loss of feathers...but could they be molting???

The coexist happily with a small flock of seramas.

Yep, the hot weather up here is taking a toll on the birds. It's probably the heat, or they are hiding their eggs in a cooler spot than the nests (That's what mine did till I found a dozen eggs there!!!!) I also have a sexlink dong a heavy heavy molt too and she stopped laying. She is seriously about 80% pinfeathers at the moment Her wings, belly and back are featherless. Good thing she is at the top of the pecking order, else she'd have thoes pin feathers pecked out!

Wait till it cools down next week and see if they don't start up or start dropping feathers. Good luck!

Thanks! I appreciate your response! I did notice that one girls belly is bald....I just hadnt noticed. Whew..90 is too hot for me too!
