Switching my email back has returned the problem- sort of. I never even got an email to activate the change in address, so I think gmail must be blocking ALL email from this site somehow. It's not in my spam, it's not in my trash, there are no filters moving to delete the mail immediately. So I'm not sure why it would, I dunno, reject? the mail from here.
EDIT: I spent a while browsing really terrible facts and questions at the gmail help area until I decided that even though the form wasn't quite what i wanted, and I didn't have the text and header thing they wanted, I would try to bring the problem to their attention. It wouldn't let me send the form without filling in a header and giving it a file, so I thought you might get a smile out of my work around. Here's what I sent to gmail:
"I can't find any other way to contact you, but myself and others are experiencing not receiving any email from a website we are subscribed to. I changed email clients (used my work email) and received the updates. The updates are not being filtered into the spam, trash, archive, or anywhere else on my gmail account. The website is www.backyardchickens.com and I was previously receiving mail from them... then it just stopped. I don't have the file because it's not a person, and the site has said they can't see any reason why this would be happening from their end, and it must be something with google- only gmail users are seeing this happen. Since I don't have the text file you want, I attached a picture of a baby button quail so you might help me anyway."
