no fresh eggs while preggo?

Its just dirt and dirt don't hurt.

Unless you are clumsy, and meet said dirt unexpectedly.

Yes, cook the eggs...I would think the texture would be an issue preggers. All wiggly and slimy on the **urp**

Just kidding.

Wonder what all those pregnant women did before all this handy dandy modern hockey came to life? My grandmother ate "yard eggs" while pregnant, my mother ate them while pregnant, and if I ever become pregnant I sure ain't running to the store for them old nasty store eggs when my hens are laying eggs in my side yard!

It is sad some of the things that some doctors will tell their pregnant patients or mothers NOT to do.

Enjoy fresh eggs!

You can clean a litter box, just wash your wands. Toxoplasmosis is a parasitic infection that can only be caught "IF" your cat is infected...and you can have your cat tested and treated. Also when gardening...wash your hands. The only way toxoplasmosis can be contacted is thru feces/mouth/blood. This parasitic infection can also be transmitted thru uncooked meat.

I'm gonna agree with the others, eggs are safe as long as they are cooked properly. But that said I still eat sunny side up eggs or dippy as my kids call them, when preggo. My dr encourages me to eat eggs because of the protein in them and I need all the extra I can get right now. I'm preggo with twins.

Huh. I thought you could inhale it and become infected that way? But it looks like not. Also, if you have had cats a while (or done a fair amount of gardening) you have probably already been exposed...

That said, I didn't take any chances, and wouldn't take a chance if/when.

I didn't change a thing when I was pregnant, both times! I still ate eggs, I still ate tuna and I also ate the "banned from pregnant women" sushi. It amazes me what is added to the no eat list for pregnant women year after year. Basically if I craved it I ate it. I think our bodies are very good at telling us what is needed when pregnant. I couldn't take prenatals when I was pregnant, I would get very sick, but I craved spinach daily (lots of folate)! I ate 3 cans a day during both of my pregnancies!

Somebody probably got mixed up with the fact that you shouldn't eat raw eggs while preggo. Actually raw eggs carry risk for anyone eating them, but a lot of people do. Kind of like you're not supposed to eat raw oysters or sushi when your preggo......I couldn't eat eggs at all for my first trimester, as much as I love them the smell/look made me sick. If fact along with suddenly long/strong nails my instant aversion to eggs told me I was expecting weeks before the test could confirm it.
