Thanks everyone. I ate eggs during my first pregnancy. i was just told that i could no longer eat them overeasy. And make sure they are cooked all the way through. I love eggs and am very excited to be getting laying hens for the fresh eggs. I dont know why her OB would tell her no fresh eggs? hmmm

I could be wrong, but I thought that the term pasturized when used in regards to eggs, meant the hens were allowed access to grass/pastureland. Free range can be access to an outside area void of vegetation.

Go ahead, eat eggs. Your baby will enjoy it!

Well, I like to subscribe to the idea that we are what we eat. And I know that my pampered poults are about as spoiled as it gets -- they get fresh air, lots of grass, bugs, fruits and veggie scraps, healthy food and they live in a clean environment. Seems like a pretty good food source if you ask me. Especially when considering how grocery store chickens (meat and egg) are raised.

I ate eggs through all three babies. Absolutely no issues. Raw egg can carry salmonella, which is why I'd probably steer clear of the home-made caesar salad dressing with raw yolk, but other than that, have at it. Heck, I think that eggs just might possibly be the perfect food.
