No noise after pip

This is my first hatch and the first chick pipped last night about 10pm.We have not got to hear it chirp any at all.Should we be able to hear the baby chick or not until he is all the way out of the egg?How long should we wait to help it?Thank you.

It can take a long time from pip to hatch, sometimes 24 hours!!!! I had one last month took 24 hours!

however, DON'T OPEN THAT INCUBATOR!!!!! Don't want to risk dropping your humidity!

I know it is hard waiting........

but just sit on those hands and watch!!!
