First question - are there cochins that don't have feathered legs? I have this adorable little pullet [?] that I got earlier this week, only a few feathers, mostly black fluff. Yellow beak, one whitish dot on the top of her head, yellowish cream color under her chin, grayish butt and underside, pink skin. I pulled her from the bin that was supposed to be all black cochins, or barred cochins can't remember which. So far all the feathers than are coming in are black........any thoughts? Sorry I haven't been able to get a picture of her yet.

I've never seen a cochin with no leg feathering, at all. The dark down and head spot sound rather like a barred rock. The lighter patches of down sound rather like an australorp. What color legs does she have?

White dot on the top of her head. . . . Sounds like you have a barred chicken there, so either it may just be a poor quality Barred Cochin or something else. (a mutt?) The fact that her feathers are coming in all black sounds weird though.

Cochins do not come with clean legs (no feathers)

Legs are mostly yellow with a little black. I guess 'Henny Penny' will remain a mystery hen for awhile, she's much larger than the other three I got at the same time. I"ll try to get a picture. The day I bought my chicks I was planning to have a blacked barred cochin, a blue langsham, a light brahma and a black cochin - looking at pictures of barred rocks that's more along the lines of what she looks like. The tips of the wing feathers coming in do have some white on them.

I went to the feed store today and they told me Henny Penny is most likely a [black] Leghorn - does this make sense?

There are actually a few breeds that sort of match your description. A photo would be most helpful.
