No shell?

Hi so can someone explain what happened here? Two healthy eggs and this ball of egg yolk no shell anywhere, shifted thru the bedding. Is this a concern? First yea layers, probably second egg for my birds. thanks!

It does occur with new layers that there will be egg anomalies sometimes. A dwarf egg or a shell-less egg can account for a "misfire". If the egg gets stepped on, it can burst open, and what card-carrying, warm blooded chicken will pass up a yummy snack right at her feet?

They'll get into a grove soon, and eggs will be coming regularly and with good quality.

I agree I really wouldn't worry too much about it unless it keeps happening. Sometimes it takes new layers a while to work all the kinks out
