Hello!
We have a hen who just started laying 4 days ago. So far, she has laid 2 eggs. Today I noticed her in the nesting boxes and knew she was laying. I came back outside half an hour later and checked the nesting box. There was no egg, but the floor was wet. It looked like gooey fluid. Like an egg without the shell. There was no yolk though. I was wondering if maybe its because only 2 of our hens are laying, so we haven't given them layer feed yet. Was there no shell because she hasn't started eating it yet? All her other eggs have been normal. What should I do?
Thanks!!

I would give oyster shells on the side and if you have roosters/cockerels just keep giving them the feed you are already using i feed mine an All Flock feed and oyster shells on the side

We just had a similar experience, their is egg white and yolk smeared in on of our boxes but I can not find any remnants of shell. Im guessing and hoping it was shell less and the chickens don't suddenly have a taste for eggs. Our girls are 22 weeks, not all of them are laying yet so we are still early in the laying game.
