no sleep for the past week, how do you shut a chick up

I agree. I would check your state thread if there is one. If you were in Louisiana I would gladly spare one chick. I bet others would to in your area.

i had a lone silkie hatch out 5 days ago and its driving me NUTS!

it peeps loud 24/7 and nobody in my house has gotten sleep for the past week, the baby has clean food and water, a warrm brooder and a stuffed animal to keep him company.
i have no clue whats wrong, any ideas?

She/he is definitely lonely,peeping because she is scared,lonely and probably cold. I have six silkies,they all like to be together all the time. She needs a friend,then she will calm down.

Let the chicken math begin, lol. I only wanted to start out with 10 or so, but now we will be ending up with 21 plus "packing peanuts" with one of my orders. They are truly flock type critters, the more friends they have the happier they are. Good luck picking out it's friend, let us know the final math. Remember the one chick might get lonely on the ride home
