From what I've heard others say, she's probably lonely. Try putting a small stuffed animal in there and/or a mirror so she thinks there's another chick in there with her. Or, can you buy a few chicks at TSC?
Good luck!!

I wish I could offer you some advice but I am new to chickens and got my babies mid-march. The ONLY time I heard them peep loudly was on our way home from picking them up and I think they were cold. Other than that...they have been so quiet. Like I was shocked at how quiet they turned out to be. Makes me wonder if they will be loud once they start laying.

Anyway...maybe the poor thing is lonely. I think they prefer to be in groups as opposed to just a single chick. Wish I was more help

thanks, i tried the mirror and stuffed animal days ago but i guess i will try to pick up a chick at the feed store.

Chickens are flock animals, they need the companionship of others of their kind or they become overly dependent on the humans.

Any chance of a friend? you'll all sleep better

Yup definitly lonely. Only way to make her quiet is get her friends or give her away... Its really sad for them not to have a friend because theyre flock birds
