i don't meet people at my place for a few reasons, i agree with breeder i think he ment well but it came out wrong,lol.

1- i have 5 kid's who r usually with me for their safety and mine cuz u just never know. i meet people at well lit public places like mc. donalds, arby's, gas stations, walmart, tractor supply ect.

2- biosecurity of my flock

3- yep security of my flock from theft if people knew how much money was tied up in them, they'd be gone. people r ignorant here.

if he don't want u at his house suggest meeting somewhere else like what i said above. when i meet people mine go in transport cages or dog kennels in the back of my van. we meet. i show them the birds we talk about 10 min and switch birds. i put them in boxes for them to take and my hubby puts new ones in the crates and we all load and leave. never had a problem, it's fast, easy and safer for eveyone involved.

10 years ago my dad had a man stop an try to buy one of his roos. Dad refused the $1500.oo he offered. A few nights later under the cover of a thunder storm someone made off with every chicken he had.

I echo what everybody else said I will not let anyone come to my home. A former neighbor had everyone of his registered pitbull pups stolen from his backyard after showing them. Not only do you have to worry about bio security or the burglar, but the animal rights wack jobs that think raising chickens is cruel. People have been turned in around here for tethering their birds along with other accusations just because you have chickens. If you have children it is not safe to have strangers around your house.

I plan on meeting people in public parking lot or let the feed store broker the sale for a commission. Then I don't even have to make contact at all.

I only asked the guy what town he lived at. I always meet people in public places if I don't know them. It was the last part of his note that got me. The I'm not saying your crazy but... part. He is the one selling something. I was just trying to keep from shipping the eggs from his place to mine if we were not to far from each other. I understand about people stealing and bringing contamination. You just don't start out talking about someone being crazy after them asking a simple question. My next question would have been about references sine he had no reviews and he was just listed on the site. I mean I have to be careful also as to whom I am sending money to. Thanks. After talking with people like you I just told him I thought that it would be better just to have no futher contact with each other and apoloigised if I had troubled him. I also wished him the best. A personal note to you I candled all my eggs tonight with my daughter. I had only one egg that is not doing anything. They were moving all around and you could see al sorts of things. We also candled all the other eggs I have and out of 75 omly three showed no movement. I can't believe our good luck. Today made day 10 on them being in the incubators. Thanks for such good eggs. Wish me luck for the next 11 days or so. Thanks for the help, dave27889

It happened to one of my renters I use to have..He was nice and let a young man borrow his chainsaw to cut some brush..Later that night the young man came back and helped his self to it

sorry i'm one of those people too,
i'll meet in a public location, i live in a rural area were talking way out, it takes police 30 mins to respond, and there's been alot of people in the area that have been murdered in the last 2 years by people they didn't know that showed up at their homes to rob them.
