Nobody cares on the incubating thread...(pics now...more pics pg 4)

Do you have any of the rubber shelf liner for the brooder? That really helps.

But I still get one every now and again with leg problems that has to be put down.

I hate that.

No i haven't been able to get the shelf liner yet. They are on paper towels right now, but they will be on pine shavings in a few days. It looks normal unless it is laying down. Then it kind of just throws it's legs everywhere! But it seems to be walking fine. There is another one that has a cured toe, but I'm not worried about that. The older button I have had that as well, and they straightened out on their own.

I'm up to 17 now!!

I think the final count is 17, which is good for eggs that came all the way from Alaska!! Much better than my last hatch. I have heard that a good hatch with quail is 50% and i almost made it! I will leave them in there for another day or so to make sure.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I would wait at least another 24 hours before closing out the hatch.

But yes... 17 is good, considering the circumstances and the travel!

Would you believe that right after I posted here, I went to feed my animals. I heard a baby quail cooing, so I went to check. I had another one in the bator!!! So now I have 18!!!
