Nobody Else Has Done It

When DH and I married (15 years ago on Feb 14) I bought my dress at a resale shop. It was gorgeous and I paid $100. Not bad. You should look at resale shops, you might find a treasure like I did. Several years ago a dear friend of mine wanted me to make her dress out of mossy oak camo. I did, although I want to dress her in satin and lace. The dress turned out cute and her whole wedding was camo, set in a cow pasture. Way cool. It's your day, do it your way.

My dad's wife is Indonesian and every time she goes to Indonesia she brings back the most beautiful, quality hand made clothing. Now, if they do it differently as exported clothing, I don't know, but the clothes I've seen her bring back are gorgeous.

I made my own wedding dress and all the brides maids dresses and my moms dress-and made a lot of other peoples bridesmaid dresses too. But if I had it over to do (and hope to some day...hint hint to a certain guy who will never read this) I would buy a dress.

I would go and try a few on at a big bridal shop just to see how certain designs fit you. I can under stand wanting a new dress, it is your day why not!

But I sure would have some fun with my photographer and a similar styled dress and trash the dress on the farm, or where ever you would like some fun photos done. Use a thriftstore special and have some fun!

Enjoy the day, dont sweat the minor things.

(remind me of this as my son and his fiancée plan their wedding)

Just keep looking! You'll find your perfect dress for you... you'll know when you see it too.
I'd check out Davids Bridal... usually decent dresses in ALL types for decent prices. Or google dressmakers in your area... sometimes they can make you a dress for cheaper.
Also..i see wedding dresses on CL all the time... check them out.
