Noisy egg laying & taking too long?

One of my hens is in a nest box and has been clucking like crazy for about an hour or more with no egg yet. Should I be concerned?

nope, especially if she is new to laying.

I wouldn't be... I have a newer layer that regularly wastes 3 hour on an egg. My other girls took a long time to get them out when they were new too, but now stroll on into the coop, hit thwir favorite spot, and depending on the girl I see them strolling back through the yard relatively quickly.

Coolness, thanks. She's not "new" to laying but she is just getting back into it. It is a recently bought hen who took some time off after coming here.
