Noisy Hen

I have a five year old Australorp hen who is very loud. Even after being let out into a fairly large run, she continues to whine VERY loudly (I say whine for lack of a better description of the sound). The other chickens are content and quiet but she is so loud all day! The sound is very disruptive and i would like to know how to quiet her down so that she does not disturb the neighbours. The only explanation for her loudness that i can think of is that she does have a tendency to be anxious and nervous. Does anyone know how I can calm her down? Some hens are more boisterous than others. What do you do when she is being loud? Often times the response we give them only serves to further the unwanted behavior vs. correct it - in essence, it is not uncommon for people to inadvertently train the animal to do the very thing that they don't want the animal to do.
