Noisy Hens- Advice Wanted!

I'd give her a few more days, to see if she settles into life in a run. Since chickens don't like change they'll fuss over a while over new things, but most will eventually accept the change without much issue.

Just don't give in and give her outside time, or she'll learn that fussing = gets time outside, and will continue to fuss.

Great advice, thank you!!

This is exactly our fear!! I am worried that when we get rid of our problem child another will just take her place of crying out, which sounds like is what happened in your situation! Our noisest girl is a blue mauran but we also have 2 amerucanas and 1 austerlorp. In my research that I should have done from the start about queit breeds, I have heard good things about buff orpingtons! I am glad to hear that it ended up working out for you in the end with your new flock, we may have to do the same. Thanks for the response. :)
Buffs are wonderful; my next door neighbor has an all Buff flock. I have heard of them being bossy, so I'm sure individual personalities vary and play a big part. I did a bunch of research on quiet breeds that are non-broody - I'd rather have eggs. LOL. And although my buff is very broody, she's quiet and very friendly. She comes running up to me to be petted and picked up. I'd love to add Bielefelders someday too.

Awwh! We are the same love to have eggs and some sweet and friendly chickens!

My birds have always been confined.....I've had some real blabbermouths.
Sometimes they just wont STHU, seems to come and go.

I wish we would have confined them from the start so they did not know about the great outdoors lol.

My chickens are always confined & they make some noise all the time, it's just what chickens do.

Yep understand that wild animals will make noise lol. Did you watch the video I posted, is that an hourly noise for your chickens as well??

Mine do this constantly in the morning before they are let out. However during the winter, they get used to being in the coop all the time and stop doing it, so I think once yours get used to being in the run, they will stop.

This brings me hope, thank you!!
