Noisy noisy chicken who started laying eggs recently!? Help?

Yeah, sorry... nothing you can do. Major misconception is that roosters are louder than hens... I find it very not true most of the time. Some hens are quiet and some don't shut up.

I have noticed than in the few short weeks my hens have been laying that they already have been less noisey. Infact my to BA's dont really make any more noise.

Yeah, I had one in particular that bawked her brains out and not only for her own egg, but for anyone else's egg too. She was the flock gossip, and sometimes instigated a couple of others to join her. I was also in an "illegal" situation, so I was worried- but I had a window over their run without a screen and I (luckily) worked from home so I could hear them. I would toss treats out the window and they would quiet right down, since eating and bawking cannot be done at the same time. After a period of time, they quieted down. Now they are in a legal area and can make as much noise as they want, and I rarely hear them- they are totally quiet now that it doesn't matter- ha. Except for their contented clucking and humming they do when scratching around, which is such a wonderfully soothing sound.

Hahaha my 2 Road Island Reds are sooo noisey! Brenda will be in the nesting box laying and Roxie will be out side shouting about Brenda laying!!!!!!! and vice- versa i hope my neighbours dont complain! i sometimes put meal worms into the chicken run to shut her up! whilst the other is laying, my dog finds the whole process very exciting!!!!!!!! lol
