I know several people have mentioned using the rubber shelf covering for the floor of the brooder for the first few days instead of news paper. I just found another neat thing! They are plastic squares used for cross stich craft projects. These are about the size of a piece of paper and are flexible, yet stiff enough not to bunch up like the rubber can do. Very easy to clean and disinfect. The holes are small enough that only the smallest particles of feed fall through. Has anyone else ever tried this?
