Oh I am so with you Greyfields.

The government doesn't give a crap about backyard chickens, I can tell you that right now. And anyone who thinkgs Foster Farms is afraid of going out of business because of backyard chicken raisers is a little off their rocker. Ever see their numbers?

This is 100% about disease control and agricultural terrorism fear and for every person who complains about the NAIS there are a thousand more who would lynch this government if the dreaded disease outbreak happened and there was no plan.

Is it a good plan, no not so much, but it is a plan. If people don't like the plan as it stands right now - instead of complaining try coming up with solutions.

I can guarantee that this will not go away.

My mom just explained to me what NAIS is. IMO, the government is going a little to far.

* Surprise, DB, I agree with you 1OO% on 2 points: 1. The goverment DOESN'T "give a poop" about backyard chickens, and 2. This ISN'T going to go away. There is simply too much money to be had, at the "relatively modest" expense of a few hundred thousand small-scale farmers whose operations add nothing to the bottom line.

You can't guarantee anything. You can only state your opinion with 1000% certainty. Pushing your opinion on others isn't going to make it true and this isn't the UK. Shocking mental imagery of burning animal carcasses doesn't change my view on the NAIS. The government needs to stay out of my yard.
