None are hatching.....

What do you use to sterilize the bator? Just wanting to get some different ideas that work better than bleaching it and rinsing well?

Pretty sure you can use ammonia, if you can stand the smell

Good luck pdsavage, I hope some hatch for you.

I am on day 20 for my 26 eggs in my still air LG w/ egg turner. No sign of anything yet. All 26 had live chickies swimming around a week or so ago, so I am still holding out some hope. I did the 101 temp on top of the eggs with 35% humidity til day 18, stopped turning, put them in egg cartons and upped the humidity to 65%. I don't know what else I could have done differently.

What I do is this. I dump all the crumbly pieces out of the bottom of the bator in the yard. I wipe out the bator bottom with a cloth to get anything else gunky off. Then I fill up the bathtub with HOT water(hot as my hands can handle it) and add a cup or so

of bleach and then place something heavy on top of the (bottom only) bator so the bator does not float and let it soak for a while..OR.... till I remember it is in there soaking. (the house gets that fresh cleaned smell as well!) Then I scrub the inside of the bator with an old toothbrush and antibacterial soap and hot water, till I get the old yuck off and rinse rinse rinse rinse well.

I don't set them in the sun but I leave them angled in the tub to dry out naturally.

I had not even thougth about the upper cabinet and heating element! Glad I asked.... Derr .....like they (duckies) don't sling water with their little beaks all over the place! What was i thinking!
thanks for the advice and help!
