Hello.
Not totally new to chickens at this point.
Moved to a rural-ish section of south-east Michigan in 2016.
By early fall of this last year we acquired two roos both white/black. They were dumped on the side of the road just down a bit from our house. Both white/black, our best guess is silkie mix. One was killed by a predator. The other we have managed to keep alive, and make happy.
Picked up chicks this afternoon from TSC. 3 Jersey Giants, 3 Banties, 3 Silver Laced. Good start.
They're chirping happily at the moment.

Planning on adding more. Particularly interested in ducks too. Our roo likes grapes and before I ever acquired the roo, I never would have guessed how darned smart they are.
Specifically raising for eggs. Interested in learning more about rarer breeds like Icies.

Oh uh three kids, one husband, 2 cats, one dog. :)

G'Day from down under mdavison :frow Welcome!

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

BYC has Topic of the Week discussions which I have found to be a great resource, informative and sometimes entertaining; so definitely worth checking out.

If you would like to share Pictures and Stories of your flock and/or other critters, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)

Including your general location on your profile will assist others. Location, climate, season etc can be important factors when members are responding to any questions you may have and vice versa.

You might want to also Find Your State Thread and pop in and say hello.
