Normal or precocious chick flying?

Is it normal for almost 2-week-old chicks to be able to fly up 2+feet? I was changing the bedding and I keep them in pop-up hamper during cleaning. Next thing I know, I hear loud peeping and one is perched on the top! Luckily, it had a lid, as does the brooder, but I'm curious if I missed something about this being a "normal" chick capability.

My chicks are often bouncing around and flying by 2-3 weeks, so your chick isn't exactly precocious. It is amazing, how such tiny little creatures can fly and jump so high!
